8x%2B3%282-x%29=5x%2B6 Start with the given equation.


8x%2B6-3x=5x%2B6 Distribute.


5x%2B6=5x%2B6 Combine like terms on the left side.


5x=5x%2B6-6 Subtract 6 from both sides.


5x-5x=6-6 Subtract 5x from both sides.


0x=6-6 Combine like terms on the left side.


0x=0 Combine like terms on the right side.


0=0 Simplify.


Since this equation is always true for any x value, this means x can equal any number.


So there are an infinite number of solutions.
