P=2L%2B2W Start with the perimeter of a rectangle formula.


P-2L=2W Subtract 2L from both sides.


%28P-2L%29%2F2=W Divide both sides by 2 to isolate "W".


W=%28P-2L%29%2F2 Flip the equation.


So the solution is W=%28P-2L%29%2F2
