We know that there are 16 ounces in 1 pound, thus:

p=z/16

Alternatively,

z=16*p

Let's check this to see that it works:

Let's say that my number of ounces, z, is 128

Plugging 128 in for z in the first equation, we get:

p=z/16 or p=128/16

p=8 pounds in 128 ounces.
