You can put this solution on YOUR website!
5x-6 divide by 8 =3. how do i find out what x is?
(5x-6 )/8 =3 ----(1)
Multiplying through out by 3
(5x-6) = 3X8
5x-6 =24
5x= 24+6 (grouping like terms,changing sign while changing side)
5x =30
x =30/5 = 6
Answer: x = 6
Verification: Putting x = 6 in (1)
LHS = (5x-6 )/8 = [5X6 - 6]/8 = (30-6)/8 24/8 = 3 =RHS
Therefore our answer is correct
