The equation we need is
38+%2B+4x+=+45.5+%2B+2.5x
step 1 - subtract 38 to get
4x+=+7.5+%2B+2.5x
step 2 - subtract 2.5x to get
1.5x+=+7.5
step 3 - divide by 1.5 to get
x+=+5
in 5 years they will be the same height
