You can put this solution on YOUR website! The surface area of a cylinder is 408 square inches. Make an algebraic equation involving x ans solve with proper algebraic steps.
radius is 5 inches. x is length.
surface area of a cylinder = 2(pi r 2) + (2 pi r)* h
2(pi r 2) + (2 pi r)* x=408
2*3.14*5^2 + 2*3.14*5 *x=408
2*3.14*5 *x=408- 2*3.14*5^2
x=(408- 2*3.14*5^2) / 2*3.14*5
x= (408-157) / 31.4
x= 251/31.4
x= 7.99 inches
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Mananth did this correctly im just going to make it easier to read.
surface area of a cylinder = round to nearest 100th inches
