Here are the original; equations:
(i) 5x+-+%282%2F5%29y+=+28+
(ii) 2x+%2B+%283%2F2%29y+=+39%2F2
Since you are not a fan of fractions, multiply (i) by 5 and then (ii) by 2 to get
(iii) 25x+-+2y+=+140
(iv) 4x+%2B+3y+=+39
Now multiply (iii) by 3 and (iv) by 2 to get
(v) 75x+-+6y+=+420
(vi) 8x+%2B+6y+=+78
add down and solve for x.
83x+=+498
x+=+6
Now find y.
y+=+5
(6,5)
