Question 24869: Its me again. I am having trouble with this equation
w=(ma+kx)d, solve for x when the answer is x=w-mad/kd
I tried breaking down the equation but started with w-ma-d=kx
are you supposed to multiply by d even though its attached to the back? Can you please show me how this should be solved?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
First multiply out the parentheses:

w= mad +kxd

Next, get the x term alone on the right side by subtracting mad from each side:
w-mad = kxd

Now, to solve for x, you must divide both sides by kd:

%28w-mad%29%2F%28kd%29+=+%28kxd%29%2F%28kd%29
%28w-mad%29%2F%28kd%29+=+x+
