I tried breaking down the equation but started with w-ma-d=kx
are you supposed to multiply by d even though its attached to the back? Can you please show me how this should be solved?

First multiply out the parentheses:

w= mad +kxd

Next, get the x term alone on the right side by subtracting mad from each side:
w-mad = kxd

Now, to solve for x, you must divide both sides by kd:
