Question 24025: i have to write an equation of the line with the given slope and y intercept...example: slope 5 y intercept -15, what am i supposed to do? do they want me to put it in the y=mx + b form or something else?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Do you know what y = mx +b means? Do you know what the letters stand for? First of all, the x and y represent variables. The m stands for slope, which is given in this problem to be 5. The b represents the y-intercept, which is also given in this problem as being -15. This means that the equation of the line is
y = mx+b or
y = 5x-15

I have about three lesson plans in algebra.com with more explanations and examples to explain this to you. Check it out.
