If she took 20 shots at 20¢ each, then she paid $4.00 (20 times 20 = 400). But if she only lost 70¢, then she must have gotten $4.00 - $0.70 = $3.30 back. Since she received 30¢ for each hit, she must have had 330/30 = 11 hits.
