You can put this solution on YOUR website!

7-2n=n-14 Start with the given equation.

-2n=n-14-7 Subtract 7 from both sides.

-2n-n=-14-7 Subtract n from both sides.

-3n=-14-7 Combine like terms on the left side.

-3n=-21 Combine like terms on the right side.

n=%28-21%29%2F%28-3%29 Divide both sides by -3 to isolate n.

n=7 Reduce.

7-2n=n-14
you have to solve this by getting the n's on one side and the whole numbers on the other side.
lets say we want the n's on the left side. We need to subtract n from the right side. whatever you do to one side you have to do to the other.
7-2n-n=n-14-n
7-3n=-14
using the same principle. move the wholw number to the right.
7-3n-7=-14-7
-3n=-21
now divide both sides by -3.
n=7

7-2n=n-14
Add 2n to both sides to get:
7 = 3n - 14
Add 14 to both sides to get:
3n = 21
Divide both sides by 3 to get:
n = 7

Good Evening,
You want to solve the equation 7 – 2n = n -14.
Let’s start by looking at what we hope to achieve in the long run. We want to solve for the variable, n. This means we want an equation that looks something like this:
n = value
Let’s start by moving the 7 to the right hand side. Remember you must do the same operation on both sides of the equation. So let’s subtract 7 from both sides:
7 – 7 -2n = n -14 -7
0 -2n = n -21
Next, let’s move the term n to the left side by doing the same thing. Subtract n from both sides:
-2n – n = n – n -21
-2n –n = 0 -21
-3n = -21
Lastly, divide both sides by -3 so we have n in isolation on one side:
n = 7
Let’s check that the result is correct by substituting it into the original equation:
7 – 2 (7) = 7 – 14
-7 = - 7
The left-hand-side is equal to the right-hand-side, so the answer is correct.
Good Luck!
