You can put this solution on YOUR website!
I'm not really understanding how to solve equations. Would you be able to help me with this question? What is -6q+p=-5, solve for q

Step 1. Given

-6q%2Bp=-5

Step 2. Subtract p from both sides to get -6q only on the left side.

-6q%2Bp-p=-5-p

-6q=-5-p

Step 3. Divide by -6 to both sides of the equation

-6q%2F-6=-5%2F-6-p%2F-6

q=5%2F6%2Bp%2F6

Step 4. Check and substitute solution q=5%2F6%2Bp%2F6 into original equation
-6q%2Bp=-5

-6%285%2F6%2Bp%2F6%29%2Bp=-5

-5-p%2Bp=-5

-5=-5 which is a true statement.

Step 5. ANSWER: The solution is q=5%2F6%2Bp%2F6.

I hope the above steps were helpful.
