Is -2/3 a solution of 3x + 6 =4?

To find out if this is a solution substitute the value in the equation and see if it leads a true statement.

3x%2B6=4

3%2A%28-2%2F3%29%2B6=4

-2%2B6=4

4=4 which is a true statement.

I hope the above steps were helpful.
