-3x + 5 + -1y = 0
Reorder the terms:
5 + -3x + -1y = 0
Solving
5 + -3x + -1y = 0
Solving for variable 'x'.
Move all terms containing x to the left, all other terms to the right.
Add '-5' to each side of the equation.
5 + -3x + -5 + -1y = 0 + -5
Reorder the terms:
5 + -5 + -3x + -1y = 0 + -5
Combine like terms: 5 + -5 = 0
0 + -3x + -1y = 0 + -5
-3x + -1y = 0 + -5
Combine like terms: 0 + -5 = -5
-3x + -1y = -5
Add 'y' to each side of the equation.
-3x + -1y + y = -5 + y
Combine like terms: -1y + y = 0
-3x + 0 = -5 + y
-3x = -5 + y
Divide each side by '-3'.
x = 1.666666667 + -0.3333333333y
Simplifying
x = 1.666666667 + -0.3333333333y
