: I would like to know what I am doing wrong and the correct answer.
(c+2)+8=4 I used distibutive property and mutliply whats in the parenthese by 8.
8c+16=4
Then I got rid of the 16 and I balanced each side out.
8c+16-16=4-16
8c=(-12)
Then I divided both sides by 8 and got c = -1.5. I don' think that is the right answer so can you help me? Please and thank you!!! This question is from textbook Algebra: Structure and Method
