An isosceles triangle has two sides of equal length. The length of one of the equal sides is 4x-3 and the other one is 2x+1. The longest side is 3x in length. Find the value of x and the perimeter of this isosceles triangle.
-----------
4x-3 = 2x+1 since the sides are equal
2x = 4
x = 2
-------
The 3rd side is 3x
= 6
p = 2+2+6 = 10
