Gwen sold her car on consignment for x dollars. The
saleswoman’s commission was 10% of the selling price

Since Gwen received $6,570 and the saleswoman’s commission was 10%, it means that the $6,570 that Gwen received was reduced by the saleswoman’s 10% commission, thereby leading to Gwen receiving only 90% of the amount that the car was sold for.
Therefore, we’re looking at $6,570 representing 90%, and finding out what amount represents 100%.
