Question 193714This question is from textbook Beginning Algebra
: I am having trouble solving for x.
.07 + 3x - 4.2 = 9x + 3.6 - 7x
The chapter did not cover more than one x so I am confused about equaling out the sides. I simplify it and get an answer of 6.5 * x = 5.6 * x I am sure that I am very wrong! Thank you for your help!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
.07 + 3x - 4.2 = 9x + 3.6 - 7x
:
3x-4.13=2x+3.6......combined like terms on both sides
:
x=7.73......subtracted 2x and added 4.13 to both sides
