Alright, if you're anything like the rest of the world, you do not like fractions. So as a first step, let's get rid of them. If we multiplied both sides of the equation by 4 would that get rid of all the fractions? What about 5? No to both. We need to find the LCM of 4 and 5 in order to get rid of both. This is 20. So if we multiply both sides of the equation by 20, it should eliminate all fractions. So,
20%283x%2B1%29%2F4-20x%2F5=20%28x-2%29
5%283x%2B1%29-4x=20x-40
15x%2B5-4x=20x-40
11x%2B5=20x-40
5=9x-40
45=9x
x=5
