You can put this solution on YOUR website! Okay. The first thing you have to do is change the words into "math terms." That is, numbers and symbols. This is how the problem looks.
6<3x (because you don't know what the number is, just call it a letter so you don't forget it's there).
What you have to do now is pretend it's a normal algebra problem, with the less than sign becoming an equal sign.
6=3x
Solve for x by dividing by 3.
2=x
Put the less than sign back
2 < x
You're done!
Note: You change the sign from a less than to a greater than (meaning, < to >) if you divide by a negative number. However, that isn't necessary in this problem because you're only dividing by positive three.
