Okay. What you have to do is get t alone (meaning, have t on one side of the equal side, and anything else on the other side).
So subtract s from both sides. You have
r-s = -t
Then Divide by -1 (so you'll have a positive t)
r-s/-1 = t or -r+s=t or s-r = t
You can prove this by plugging in numbers. Say r=3, s=12, t=9. That would be true because r=s-t, and 3=12-9. How could you get t (9) alone? Well, 9=12-3 (t=s-r). Or, 12=-3+9 (which is -r + s = t). It's consistent.
But basically, the answer is t=s-r
