3x%2F4+%2B+1+=+10 subtract 1 from both sides
3x%2F4+=+9 multiply both sides by 4
3x+=+36 divide both sides by 3
x+=+12
Basically, you need to get the variable 'by itself'. Remember the order of operations? We'll when solving for single variables like this, do those order of operations 'backwards'. That is, do add/subtracts first, then do multiplication/division
