You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Problem 1
5 5/9
+2 1/5
------------
I assume you are asked to add these two numbers.
They can be added when they have the same denominator:
The least common denominator for 9 and 5 is 45.
Rewrite each number using 45 as its denominator:
5 5/9 = 5 25/45
2 1/5 = 2 9/45
---------------
Adding you get 7 34/45
=============================
_______
Problem 2
(3/5) + (1/3)T = (2/5)
subtract (3/5) from both sides of the equation to get:
(1/3)T = (-1/5)
Multiply both sides to the equation by 3 to get:
T = (-3/5)
