You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The length of a rectangle is fixed at 29 cm. What widths will make the perimeter greater than 92 cm?
.
Let w = width of rectangle
and l = length of rectangle
.
Remember, the perimeter of a rectangle is:
l + l + w + w
or
2l + 2w
or
2(l+w)
.
The problem fixed the length at 29:
2(29+w)=perimeter
And, they want the perimeter to be greater than 92:
2(29+w) > 92
(29+w) > 46
w > 17
.
The width must be greater than 17 cm
