Question 136947: solve by substitution method. A.) y=-X+6 B.) y=-2x+7
Y=-x-3 -2x+y=-3

C.) y=x-5 D.) 2x+3y=-1
4x+y=15 3x-3y=-4

I solved C. I think so: X=4 Y=-1 the others I tried but can't get anywhere.
This is a homework test-not in book, instructor gave these on a sheet

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A cannot be done. that says -3 = +6
B -2x+%2B+y+=+-3 and y+=+-2x+%2B7
-2x+%2B+%28-2x+%2B7%29+=++-3
-4x+%2B+7+=+-3
-4x+=+-10
x = 2.5
C you have correct
D 2x%2B3y+=+-1 and 3x+-+3y+=+-4
3y+=+-2x+-1
3x+-+%28-2x-1%29+=+-4
5x+%2B+1+=+-4
x = -1
You can solve for y :-D
