You can put this solution on YOUR website!
3x
-- =15
4
===============
Multiply both sides by 4 to get:
3x = 60
Divide both sides by 3 to get:
x = 20

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You need to isolate the variable x to one side of the equation
3x%2F4+=+15
The first step is to clear the denominator on the left side. How do you 'get rid of' that 4? You can multiply both sides of the equation by any number excpet 0 and not change the equation. So, multiply by 4
%284%29%2A%283x%2F4%29+=+%284%29%2A%2815%29 remember, whatever you do to one side, you have to do to the othes side. Think of the equal sign as a balance. Whatever you do on one side must be done on the other to keep the balance.
Now, what is 4%2F4 ? that is 1
1%2A3x+=+%284%29%2A%2815%29
3x+=+60
Now, you need to 'get rid of' the 3.
How will you do that? Divide both sides by 3 (again, both sides!!)

3x%2F3+=+60%2F3
What is 3%2F3 ? again, it is 1
+x+=+20+
Make sense??
