Question 125027: Hi. I'm having trouble with the following problem. Can you help me?
Use the given information to find the constant of proportionality.
t is jointly proportional to x and y and inversely proportional to r. If x = 33, y = 2, and r = 11, then t = -30.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
t+=+C%28xy%2Fr%29 where C is the constant of proportionality.
Substitute in x=33, y=2, r=11 and you get:
t+=+C%2833%2A2%2F11%29
t+=+C%2866%2F11%29
t+=+6C
You already know that t+=+-30 from the question, so
-30+=+6C
C+=+-30%2F6
C+=+-5.........is the constant of proportionality
