Question 12502: Hi could you please help me with this equation as soon as possible because i have to turn this assignment in tomorrow and I don't have a clue what i'm doing!! Thank you so much! This is the equation: 12(1/4x + 1/3) - (12x - 6). Thank you so much!!

Well, the first thing to recognise is that you don't have an equation, you have an expression. What's the difference? An equation has something = to something but an expression has no equal sign, it's just an algebraic statement.
What are you required to do with your expression? The choices are:
1) Evaluate (find the value of) it. To do this you need to be given the value of x. You don't have that, so skip evaluate.
2) Simplify it. This is probably what you have been aked to do, so let's proceed.
Simplify:
Multiply the terms in the 1st set of parentheses by 12, as indicated.
Collect like-terms.
} You're done!
