You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Find the point that is one-fourth of the distance from the point P(-2, 2) to the point Q(6, 9).
:
First find the mid-point using the Mid-point formula:
%28%28x1%2Bx2%29%29%2F2 and %28%28y1%2By2%29%29%2F2
:
%28%28-2%2B6%29%29%2F2 and %28%282%2B9%29%29%2F2
Mid point: x=2; y = 5.5
:
Find the midpoint between -2,2 and 2,5.5
:%28%28-2%2B2%29%29%2F2 and %28%282%2B5.5%29%29%2F2
Mid point: x=0; y=3.75 is 1/4 the distance.
