Question 121563: Hi. May I have some help with this equality?
Solve the nonlinear inequality. Express the solution using interval notation. (If the solution contains only one interval, use (0,0) for the remaining intervals. If you need to enter - or , type -INFINITY or INFINITY.)
(x + 2)(x + 7) ≥ 0 Answer by solver91311(24713) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! The critical points are at -2 and -7, because these are the values of x that make the equation = 0. Anything larger than -2 makes both of the factors >0, so the product is >0. Anything smaller than -7 makes both of the factors <0, so the product is again >0. Anything between -2 and -7 makes the (x+2) factor <0 and the (x+7) factor >0, so the product is then <0 excluding those values from the solution set.
