Formula for perimeter of a rectangle
2%2Alength%2B2%2Awidth=perimeter
Divide both sides by 2,
length%2Bwidth=%281%2F2%29perimeter

If x is width then x+5 is length.

%28x%2B5%29%2Bx=%281%2F2%2934
x%2B5%2Bx=17
2x%2B5=17
2x=17-5=12
x=12%2F2
x=6
