You can put this solution on YOUR website!

Solve for a
y-b=m(x-a)
Divide both sides by m
(y-b)/m = x-a
(y-b)/m -x =-a

a=+x-%28%28y-b%29%2Fm%29

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Solve for a
y-b=m(x-a)
------------------
y-b=m(x-a)
(x-a) = (y-b)/m
-a = -x + (y-b)/m
a+=+x+-+%28y-b%29%2Fm
or a+=+x+%2B+%28b-y%29%2Fm
