You can put this solution on YOUR website!

(3x -2y + 3x + y) ( 6x -5 y + 8y - 4x)
(6x-y)(2x+3y)
6x(2x+3y)-y(2x+3y)
12x^2+18xy-2xy-3y^2
12x^2+16xy-3y^2

Technically, the response from the other tutor is not correct.

The reason is that you show both "y" and "Y" in the first expression, and different symbols represent different values. It is not at all uncommon to use, for example, r and R to represent the radii of two circles.

So in this problem (as you post it) you can't simplify "-2y+Y" to "-y".

The lesson for you: don't mix lower- and upper-case letters to represent the same number.

First, perform any operations possible within groupings.
+%283x+-2y+%2B+3x+%2B+Y%29+%28+6x+-5+y+%2B+8y+-+4x%29
%286x-2y%2BY%29%282x%2B3y%29
Next you could use distributive property, IF YOU WANT TO, or could choose to
use a lattice method for multiplication.
            6x -2y Y
          ------------------------
    2x | 12x^2 -4xy 2xY
         |
    3y | 18xy -6y^2 3yY

Combine like-terms using addition.
