Question 119376: i didnt have enough time to ask the teacher.
a line passes throughthe given points. write an equation for the live in point-slope form. then rewrite the equation in slope-intercept form.
(6,-4) (-3,5)
y1-y2/x1-x2
i got
5-(-4)/-3-6
is that right?
so you add 5-(-4). but i thought you were supposed to subtract everytime though. can u clear this up for me? thanks

You can put this solution on YOUR website! a line passes throughthe given points. write an equation for the live in point-slope form. then rewrite the equation in slope-intercept form.
(6,-4) (-3,5)
y1-y2/x1-x2
i got
[5-(-4)]/[-3-6] = 9/-8 = -1
is that right?
Yes, that is right.
so you add 5-(-4). but i thought you were supposed to subtract everytime though.
You DID subtract; but when you subtract -4 from 5 you add +4 and +5 to get +9.
can u clear this up for me? thanks
