Part (b), probably not the way you expect to solve but there are two points and from them system%2812=ab%5E%28-3%29%2C3=ab%5E%28-1%29%29.
Dividing one equation by the other,.... b=1%2F2, and using this in second equation,... a=3%2F2.

Equation for your points, y=%283%2F2%29%281%2F2%29%5Ex.
