100p+-+4000=0.3%28100p%29 Multiply both sides of the equation by 100p.
100p+-+4000=30p
100p+-30p+-+4000=0 Subtract 30p form both sides of the equation.
70p+-+4000=0
70p=4000Add 4000 to both sides of the equation.
p=4000%2F70 Divide both sides of the equation by 70.
p=57.14

Our equation is {(100p - 4000)/ 100p}= 0.3
Multiply on both sides by 100p.
We get, {(100p - 4000)/ 100p} X 100p = 0.3 X 100p.
That is, 100p - 4000 = 30p (Since 0.3 X 100 = 30)
That is, 100p - 30p = 4000.
That is, 70p = 4000.
That is, p = 4000/70
That is, p = 57.14.
