You can put this solution on YOUR website! 2x + 16 = (2/5)x
(5/2)(2x + 16) = x
5x + 40 = x
4x = -40
x = -10
Double-check:
Start with -10. Double it to get -20. Add 16 to get -4. -4 is 2/5 of the original number, -10.
