Multiply both sides by y:

y%2Ay+=+y%2Aexpr%28%282%2Bx%29%2Fy%29

Write the left side as y² and cancel the y's on the right side:

y%5E2+=+2%2Bx

Add -2 to both sides:

y%5E2-2+=+2%2Bx-2

Cancel the 2 and the -2 on the right:

y%5E2-2+=+x

Swap sides:

x=y%5E2-2
