You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If p+=+q+%28r+-+1%2Fs%29, find r.
distribute the q
p+=+rq+-+q%2Fs
p+%2B+q%2Fs+=+rq
divide both sides by q
p%2Fq+%2B+q%2F%28qs%29+=+r}
cancel q
p%2Fq+%2B+1%2Fs = r
or
r = p%2Fq+%2B+1%2Fs

You want r.
Undo everything that was done to r.

p%2Fq=r-1%2Fs
p%2Fq%2B1%2Fs=r
highlight%28r=p%2Fq%2B1%2Fs%29--------or use simple fraction skills to put into single rational expression if you want.

If p = q (r - 1/s), find r.
You DON'T distribute the q, as someone suggested. That's unnecessary.
Just DIVIDE each side by q. You'll then get r on the right side.
Then ISOLATE r by ADDING 1%2Fs to both sides, and that's it! The equation will be solved for r.
