A%2F%28x-1%29%2BB%2F%28x%2B4%29+=+2x%2F%28x%5E2%2B3x-4%29+=+2x%2F%28%28x-1%29%28x%2B4%29%29

Multiply both sides by the LCM, (x-1)(x+4):

A%28x%2B4%29%2BB%28x-1%29+=+2x%29
%28A%2BB%29x+%2B+%284A-B%29+=+2x

Equate the coefficients of the terms on the two sides of the equation:

A%2BB=2; 4A-B=0

Solve the pair of equations.

(you can do the work...)

Answer: A=2/5; B=8/5
