You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let x be the first number then x+12 be the larger number.
The sum of the smaller number which is x and twice the larger number which is x+12 is 39. Then we can setup the equation as:
x%2B2%28x%2B12%29=39
Then we solve.
x%2B2%2Ax%2B2%2A12=39
x%2B2x%2B24=39
3x%2B24-24=39-24
3x-0=15
3x=15
x=5
x%2B12+=+17
The larger number is 17.
Thank you.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let x=the smaller number
____x+12=the larger number
x%2B2%2A%28x%2B12%29=39
x%2B%282x%2B24%29=39
%28x%2B2x%29%2B24=39
3x%2B24=39
3x%2B24-24=39-24
3x%2B0=15
3x=15
x=5
x%2B12=17

Therefore, the numbers are 5, and 17!
