Solve for P:
P%2BPt+=+C Factor a P from the the left side.
P%281%2Bt%29+=+C Now divide both sides by (1+t)
P+=+C%2F%281%2Bt%29
Note that the tax, t, would have to be expressed in decimal form.

==> P (1 + T) = C [ taking P common]
==> P = C/(1+T) [ dividing by 1+T on both sides]
Thus P = C/(1+T)
