The common denominator is a%5E2-b%5E2 = %28a%2Bb%29%28a-b%29.

Multiply the whole equation by the common denominator to clear fractions; simplify the resulting equation and see where it leads you....

Everything simplifies nicely; but I'm not sure if the result we get is what we are being asked to "solve" for.
