Remember the .3 really means 3/10 (since it's in the tenths place). So the number 2.3 is really 2 and 3/10

2%263%2F10 Start with the given mixed number

10%2A2=20 Multiply the denominator 10 by the whole number 2 to get 20

20%2B3=23. Add 20 to the numerator 3 to get 23. This final result is the new numerator

23%2F10 Place the new numerator over the same denominator

So the mixed number 2%263%2F10 is equivalent to the improper fraction 23%2F10

So that means the number 2.3 is 23%2F10 in fraction form.

2.3
as a quotient of two integers
2.3....we can write it as 2+%2B+3%2F10, we also can write 2 as 20%2F10, then we will have:

2.3+=+2+%2B+3%2F10+=+20%2F10+%2B+3%2F10+=+23%2F10....here is that number as a quatient of two integers
