30 km/hr = 0.5 km/min = 500 meter/min
----
In 3 minutes the bus moves 3*500 = 1500 meters.

The tunnel length = 1500 - 8 - 8 = 1484 meters

let x = the length of the tunnel in meters
then
(x+8) = the length of the tunnel and the bus
:
Change 30 km/ hr to meters/min
= 500 m/min
:
= 3
x + 8 = 3*500
x = 1500 - 8
x = 1492 meters is the length of the tunnel
