Question 1084871: Marcus is working on his dragster. He knows that the time needed for the car to go from 0 to 100 miles per hour varies inversely with the cars horsepower, the car can go from 0 to 100mph in 10seconds. How long should the car take to go from 0 to 100 if he can increase the horsepower to 250hp?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Marcus is working on his dragster.
He knows that the time needed for the car to go from 0 to 100 miles per hour varies inversely with the cars horsepower,
the car can go from 0 to 100mph in 10seconds.
How long should the car take to go from 0 to 100 if he can increase the horsepower to 250hp?:
:
If it is linear, (and I am not sure that it really is)
What is the original horsepower? Assume that it is 200 hp
let t = time for go from 0 to 100 with 250 hp
t%2F10 = 200%2F250
cross multiply
250t = 10*200
t = 2000%2F250
t = 8 seconds when increase to 250 hp from 200 hp
