we can ignore the middle portions and just write
sqrt%28%28x%29%2F%28x%2B16%29%29+=+25%2F12
square both sides
x%2F%28%28x%2B16%29%29+=+625%2F144
cross multiply
144x = 625(x+16)
144x = 625x + 10000
-10000 = 625x - 144x
-10000 = 481x
x = -10000/481
x = -20.79
