x-x/2+2+1/2(x/2-2) = 22
x - x/2 + 1/2(x/2-2) = 20
Multiply thru by 2 to eliminate most fractions.

x+-+x%2F2+%2B+%281%2F2%29%28x%2F2+-+2%29+=+20 -------- Simplifying left side

x+-+x%2F2+%2B+x%2F4+-+1+=+20 ------- Distributing

x+-+x%2F2+%2B+x%2F4+=+21 ------ Adding 1 to both sides

4x - 2x + x = 84 -------- Multiplying by LCD, 4

3x = 84
