~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Parabola opened downward: y = 1+-+%28x-2%29%5E2.
Figure. Parabola y = 1+-+%28x-2%29%5E2
"Opens descendingly" is poor for the description. Do you want the vertex as a minimum or as a maximum?
y=a%28x-2%29%5E2%2B1
The vertex is a minimum for a%3E0, but a maximum for a%3C0.
