Question 1005291: Without graphing, answer the following questions for the following linear system
y-x=-9
x+y=12
a) Is the system inconsistent, or are the equations dependent, or neither?
b) Is the graph a pair of intersecting lines, a pair of parallel lines, or one line?
c) Does the system have one solution, no solution, or an infinite number of solutions?

You can put this solution on YOUR website! Solve each equation for y in terms of x, and put into slope-intercept form.
Slopes are 1 and -1, which are negative reciprocals; the y-intercepts are unequal, so these are perpendicular lines (and share exactly one point in common).
